VETERINARY NURSE (TRAINEESHIPS AVAILABLE)

In this exciting trainee veterinary nurse role, you will gain hands-on experience and comprehensive training while working alongside skilled professionals in a supportive environment. You will be immersed in the day-to-day operations of our busy veterinary hospitals, where you'll learn how to care for a variety of pets, assist with medical procedures, and ensure that our furry patients feel comfortable and loved.
About you:
- You may have completed Year 12 and/or Certificate II in Animal Care or an Animal Science/Vet Technology degree and are wondering how to get into veterinary nursing.
- You may be at a career crossroads and seeking change, but not sure if you have what it takes to be a veterinary nurse.
- You may be waiting to get onto the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing course at TAFE SA but you could be learning on the job while studying.
To be shortlisted, you must:
- Be prepared to be rostered an average of 35 hours a week over a 7-day rolling roster including early morning shifts, afternoon/evening shifts, weekends and public holidays.
- Be flexible that you may work beyond your rostered shift and have a later finish to meet the needs of our patients under our care.
- Be flexible to be rostered across our group to work in all three sites (Morphett Vale, Mitchell Park and Plympton) to cover rosters and participate in training opportunities. Own transport, a driving licence and a 30 minute commute is recommended. Ideally you should be living south of the CBD as a healthy work-life balance is important to thrive in this position.
- Be committed to study Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing over a 3-year traineeship with an expectation that once qualified, you remain in employment with the Southern Vet Group to further enhance nursing and/or leadership skills and explore the exciting opportunities to grow your nursing career.
- Be organised and able to time manage your study alongside on-the-job training.
- Be prepared to be on your feet for your entire shift and confidently handle emergency/unpredictable and emotional situations.
- Enjoy cleaning and keeping busy to maintain our high hospital standards and provide the very best care to our patients as if they were your own pet.
- Be committed to continued learning and feedback to be the best you can be as a Veterinary Nurse through training roles in customer service, animal care, surgery and medical nursing.

VETERINARIAN
