At Southern Animal Hospitals we strive to be responsible citizens in our community

We participate in several Charities including :

  • Wittlesea Veterinary Group who we provided financial support to in the aftermath of the Victorian Bush fires
  • A Zambian orphanage catering for children orphaned by the HIV epidemic in Southern Africa
  • A Malaysian animal refuge in Langkawi
  • A Thailand orphanage providing schooling for poor village children and HIV orphans
  • Fauna rescue SA providing free care for injured and unwell wildlife, we see multiple cases on a daily basis
  • Variety Club SA with team in the annual variety bash and raising thousands for children in need
  • sponsorship of schools performing arts programs
  • sponsoship of surf life saving clubs and activities

We are also very passionate about our environment

  • We recycle many tonnes of paper each year
  • We have at significant cost switched from harmful x-ray chemicals to digital radiography in all of our radiography departments
  • We have installed 8 KW of solar panels on the two Accredited Hospitals to contribute to green energy
  • We recycle hundreds of cans and bottles each month and use the proceeds for in house patient charity, visit the Morphett Vale Hospital soon and have a tour of our charity wall
  • We have recently begun using fresh fruit at each hospital rather than processed foods as staff snacks, a healthy environmental choice
