What is ASAVA Accreditation?

All veterinary clinics and hospitals in South Australia must meet minimum standards set by the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia.

However, we prefer to use the more stringent standards set by the Australian Small Animal Veterinary Association (ASAVA).

The ASAVA Hospital Accreditation Scheme recognises dog and cat practices that achieve the highest levels of quality health care and practice management in innovative, state-of-the-art hospital facilities.  These standards are based upon what humans expect from their own doctors and medical facilities.

Both our Morphett Vale and Marion hospitals are ASAVA Accredited Hospitals of Excellence.

The rigorous inspection process takes place every 3-4 years, and includes on-site visits of the hospital facilities by an independent panel, as well as review of hospital record-keeping.

There are only 37 ASAVA Hospitals of Excellence in the whole of Australia.

Marion is the longest continually ASAVA accreditated hospital in Australia, having been accreditated since 1976.

We are constantly updating our equipment to keep abreast of the latest developments in veterinary care.  However, we feel that the most important part of  accreditation is to ensure that the vets and nurses who look after your pets have the knowledge and skills to provide outstanding care and service, every day.
